It Started With A Name

The Rumpelstiltskin fairytale is all about the importance of names, yet the main female character is never given a name. When I began writing Gold Spun, it was incredibly important for me to give her agency. If she was going to get in trouble, I wanted her to be the one to get herself in trouble. That’s how the miller’s daughter became a con artist. And I gave her name. Nor no longer would be limited to the whims of the men around her. With everything going on in the world these days, I feel it’s important to raise up women, to ensure they have agency, and ensure they have names. With that in mind, this month I’m giving away a copy of either Gold Spun or Curse Undone (winner’s choice).
